New doors, drawer fronts and veneered ends on boxes that are still sound.
Overview
What this work actually is
Refacing keeps the carcasses and replaces everything you see and touch. New doors and drawer fronts, new hinges and slides, veneer over the visible case edges and ends, and new hardware. Done properly it is indistinguishable from new cabinetry from two feet away.
It is the right answer when the layout already works and the boxes are plywood in good condition. It is the wrong answer when the boxes are particleboard that has swollen under the sink, when the layout has a blind corner you hate, or when you want drawers where there are currently doors, because that is a new box.

If something is not listed here it is not assumed. Anything outside this list is quoted separately and in writing before it happens.
- Box survey: material, square, level, water damage, slide condition
- New doors and drawer fronts in your chosen style and finish
- 3/4 in matching veneer to face frames, case edges and exposed ends
- New concealed hinges and full-extension undermount slides
- New drawer boxes where the existing ones are stapled or damaged
- Hardware, bumpers and a full door and drawer alignment pass
How it runs

Assessment
We open every door, pull every drawer and check the boxes. If refacing is the wrong call we say so before you have paid for a design.

Measure and order
Every opening measured individually. Pre-war kitchens are rarely consistent, so no two doors are assumed identical.
03
Fit
Three to five days on site. Old fronts off, veneer on, new fronts hung, everything aligned to a 3 mm reveal.

Where the money goes
- Roughly a third to a half the cost of new cabinetry (sample)
- Three to five days on site rather than nine weeks
- Your counters, splashback and floor stay where they are
- Far less material to the landfill

- Priced per door and per drawer front, not per linear foot.
- Door style
- A flat slab in a matte laminate against a five-piece painted shaker is a real spread.
- Drawer box replacement
- Adding soft-close undermount slides usually means new boxes.
- Exposed ends
- Island and peninsula ends need veneer panels, which adds labour.

Plywood or solid-wood cases that are square, dry and firmly fixed are worth keeping. Swollen particleboard, racked cases, or anything with a soft floor under the sink is not, and we will tell you.
Yes. The box does not dictate the front. The one limit is inset doors, which need a face frame to sit into, so a frameless box cannot become an inset kitchen.
Yes, when the new run is made in the same programme and finish. We order both together so the paint batch matches.
